How it works

From your form to your bank.

You only do the first step. Everything after it runs on our side, and you can watch it move on the status page.

  1. 101

    You apply

Pick a programme with an open window, verify your mobile number by one-time code, enter your details and your bank account, and consent to the privacy notice.

  2. 202

    We verify you

Your NIN or BVN is checked against the State Verification Service, your VIN against the State VIN database, and your bank is asked for the name on your account.

  3. 303

    Value is allocated

Places are spread across Wards and polling units by round robin, so no single community absorbs the envelope. The methodology and the spread reports are published.

  4. 404

    You are paid

The transfer goes to your own verified account. If it fails it is retried once, and you are told the reason either way.

There is no application fee, and no agent can process your application for you.

Every submission is logged with its source, and unusual volumes from one device, network or assisting officer are flagged and investigated.

Free to apply

  • 04One person draws one grant in a cycle
  • 05Money leaves the State only to an account demonstrably belonging to the beneficiary
